Gold mining is concentrated in the most remote corners of our country; in the regions of the far North, in harsh weather conditions.  Today we work there, where the nature calls for man.  However, following us, into these inhospitable places, come the people.  Therefore, where we work today, we build houses and villages, we lay roads and create all the necessities for comfortable living.  This is the real and highest value of gold—how we, the employees of Polyus Gold Corporation, understand it. 

Therefore, for Polyus Gold, the work for the good of the country and its people—is not simply a beautiful saying.  Behind these words, stand our future accomplishments and plans for the development of the social infrastructure of the core activities, in support of the culture, education and sport at the regional and federal levels. 

Today, Polyus Gold Corporation is the largest employer and tax payer in Krasnoyarskiy Kray, Magadan and Irkutsk regions.  Each ton of gold obtained by us ensures the employment of 1000 people. 

Within the scope of the programs on improving way of life and working conditions for workers, Polyus Gold undertook the reconstruction and building of new houses and other infrastructure.  On Olympiada deposit, the company built a bread factory, a dairy and sausage plant, a chain of cafeterias and a number of other important developments.  Using the resources of the company, a number of schools and kindergartens were repaired; new equipment was bought for the hospitals in Krasnoyarsk.  In the Magadan region, new houses were built for 200 employees of the Matrasov mine and their families. 

Following the age-old traditions of the Russian gold industries, Polyus Gold encourages the representatives of Russian culture and yields in the development of young talent.
