Mikhail P. Kazimirov

General Director, Matrosov Mine

Born in 1951.

Graduated from Moscow Mining Institute as mining and construction engineer. Later received there his Ph.D. in mining technology.

In 1975 he started his career as mining foreman at Matrosov mine in Magadan region, later was promoted to site manager.

From 1981 till 1985 he worked as Chief Engineer and Head of Ducat mine construction department.

In 1985-1986 he was Chief Engineer and then Director of Ducat mine.

From 1986 till 1989 he served as General Director of Iulta mine in Chukotka and led the construction of Svetly underground mine.

In 1990-1994 Mikhail Kazimirov worked as general Director of Severovostokzoloto Alaska Russian-American joint company in Magadan.

In 1994-1995 he served as General Director of Mine Development Ltd.

From 1995 till 2002 he worked as Mining Technology and Investment Director for US Astron Minerals Incorporated.

In 2002 he joined Polyus as Deputy General Director.

In 2003 Mikhail Kazimirov was appointed General Director of Matrosov Mine, Polyus Group subsidiary.
